Function
What this part does
The ring and the support roller wear as a pair
The ring is fitted around the drum shell and rolls on the support rollers. It has to stay round and concentric: once the running surface develops flats or the fit loosens, the drum starts to creep, the shell distorts and the whole rotating assembly works harder. Ring and roller condition should always be reviewed together.
Engineer’s note
Drum diameter, ring width and the matching roller diameter are needed for a quotation. Rings are supplied to the measured shell, with the running surface finished for the roller pair.
